Why an independent checker

The party that authors a model is not well placed to certify it. We do not author models on the projects we validate, so we have nothing to defend. Our finding is the deliverable, not a defence of our own work.

What we check

Information delivery against BS EN ISO 19650-2 and your exchange information requirements. Is what was promised actually present, at the right level of information need, at the right data drop.
Geometric coordination and clash, with every clash classified by severity and discipline. You receive a decision list, not a raw dump of forty thousand clashes.
Data and asset information: COBie or your own schema, completeness, classification and naming.
IFC schema validity and export fidelity, where models are exchanged as IFC.
Security minded information management to BS EN ISO 19650-5, where the asset is sensitive.
Asset information model acceptance at handover, to BS EN ISO 19650-3, so what you receive is usable on day one rather than a folder nobody opens.

What you receive

A validation report: issue by issue, with severity, discipline, model element reference, and what closes it. Plus a one page summary a non technical client can act on. The report is reissued after correction, with a closure record showing every issue raised and how it was resolved.

Method

Solibri, Navisworks, BIMcollab and IFC schema validation as appropriate, plus a manual review of the information requirements themselves. Most failures are requirement failures, not model failures. A model can be perfectly built and still deliver nothing you can use.

The requirements review is the most valuable step for you and the cheapest to run: most failures are requirement failures, not model failures, so it is best done before the project starts.

Who signs

For every commission we appoint a named engineer of record licensed in the jurisdiction of the project. Their name, registration number and the verification record are provided at proposal stage. Internal design verification is the responsibility of our Technical Director, named to you at proposal stage.

What this is not

We are not a common data environment, a platform or a software vendor. We do not host your models and we do not sell you a licence. We check your models and we tell you what we found.
