Deliverable

A signed floor loading assessment: whether the existing floor or slab can carry the battery system, the critical checks we made, and any strengthening or caveats.

Standard

Eurocode loading, BS EN 1991-1-1 (imposed loads), with the relevant material Eurocode for the floor or slab (BS EN 1992 concrete, BS EN 1993 steel).

What we need from you

  • The floor or slab structural drawings, or a clear structural description.
  • The battery system layout, with unit weights and footprints.
  • The location and use of the space.
  • Any known existing loads or alterations.

Method

A desktop assessment of the floor or slab against the concentrated and distributed loads of the battery system, checking bending, shear, punching shear and the load path to the supports. We tell you plainly what we could and could not verify from the information provided.

Verification

Produced by a named engineer, independently checked by a second engineer, and approved before issue.

Timeline

Five working days from the complete data set.

Price

From GBP 425.

Guide price, ex-VAT. Indicative only, dependent on the sector and the specifics of your building or asset, and it varies case by case. Your firm price is confirmed in a written quote before work begins.

Firm quote in two working days. Send us the scope today and you get a fixed price and a firm delivery date within two working days. If we miss it, the first day of work is free.

The two working days run from the point at which we have the minimum scope information listed on this page. If something is missing we tell you the same day what it is.

What is not included

This is a desktop review, not a site survey or an intrusive inspection. If drawings are unavailable or the structure is uncertain, a site survey is quoted separately. It does not include the battery electrical design, the fire strategy, or the containment design.

Who signs, references, capacity

Who signs. For every commission we appoint a named engineer of record licensed in the jurisdiction of the project. Their name, registration number and the verification record are provided at proposal stage. Internal design verification is the responsibility of our Technical Director, named to you at proposal stage.

References. We do not publish client or partner names. Project references are provided at proposal stage, with our clients' consent. What you can evaluate before then: our verification process, the worked examples published on this site, and the engineering calculators we have built and made freely available.

Capacity. NOVTRIQ operates a partner-enabled delivery network capable of supporting more than 100 concurrent project workstreams. Every commission has a named project manager from day one to handover, working in a single project record.
