What is a digital twin and how does NOVTRIQ use it?
A digital twin is a real-time virtual replica of a physical building, connected to live sensor and BMS data. NOVTRIQ creates digital twins using a 6-step process: LiDAR scan, point cloud, BIM model, Autodesk Tandem integration, AI analysis layer, client dashboard. Can you retrofit existing buildings with smart technology?
Yes. Most of our work involves retrofitting existing infrastructure rather than new builds. We start with a physical survey to capture current conditions, then layer digital intelligence on top, connecting existing BMS systems, adding IoT sensors where needed, and building the AI analysis layer. No demolition or major disruption required.

Most projects follow four phases: (1) Discovery, site survey, data audit, and requirements analysis; (2) Engineering, BIM modelling, system design, and digital twin setup; (3) Implementation, installation, integration, and commissioning; (4) Operations, ongoing monitoring, AI-driven insights, and managed services if required.

Yes. Our Smart Operations service offers three tiers: Monitoring (remote surveillance and alerting), Management (proactive intervention and optimisation), and Embedded (a dedicated NOVTRIQ engineer integrated into your operations team). Each tier includes AI-powered reporting.
